Kris isn’t just Dave Cush’s partner in wine and life — she’s an accomplished visual artist who brings the landscapes of Tasmania and South-East Queensland to life through rich, expressive paintings. Every wine label under the Gerler Wines range within The Wine Revival, is adorned with her original artwork — making each bottle a collector’s piece in its own right.

An Artist Embedded in Nature and Wine

A native of Tasmania and now a proud Brisbanite, Kris Cush paints what she knows best: raw landscapes, natural textures, and the quiet power of place. Working with oils and acrylics, her work captures the emotional pull of the environment — layers of colour and form that echo the process of winemaking itself.

From vineyard soils to coastal cliffs, Kris interprets the land through an intuitive, abstract lens. The same land that gives life to the grapes in your glass also inspires her canvas. It’s a creative loop that ties nature, wine, and art together in the most personal way.

From Barrel to Brushstroke

Kris is no stranger to fermentation tanks either — she’s a trained winemaker and was co-founder and Head Winemaker at City Winery Brisbane. Her deep understanding of the winemaking process gives her a rare, dual perspective: she not only shapes how the wine tastes, but how it’s seen and felt through visual storytelling.

Each wine label in our past and current collections features her original paintings — vivid reflections of the regions where the grapes were grown, the energy of the season, and the spirit of the wine inside the bottle.
