Gift Card Terms and Conditions

1) What these terms cover

These terms apply to digital and printed gift cards issued by Dave’s Wine Revival and redeemed online at thewinerevival.com.au or in-venue at our Fortitude Valley cellar door.

2) Expiry & validity

Gift cards are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase unless a longer period is stated. We display the expiry on the gift card email (and on printed cards where used). This complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Certain exempt products (e.g., some limited-time promotions) may fall outside the national rules; where relevant, we’ll state this clearly at purchase. 

3) Fees

We do not charge post-purchase fees that reduce the card’s value (e.g., activation, account-keeping or balance enquiry fees). 

4) Redemption

  • Redeem online by entering the code in “Discount or gift card” at checkout, or present the code/QR in venue.

  • Gift cards can be used across multiple orders until the balance is $0.

  • Gift cards can be used with discount codes (they function like a payment method).

  • Gift cards are not reloadable and cannot be used to buy other gift cards.

5) Delivery

Digital gift cards are delivered by email with a unique code and redemption instructions. Printed cards (if supplied) carry the same code.

6) Refunds, exchanges & consumer guarantees

Gift cards are not refundable and not redeemable for cash, except where required by law. Consumer guarantees under the ACL still apply to goods and services purchased with a gift card.

If we refund an order paid (in whole or part) with a gift card, the gift-card portion is returned to the same card (or we issue a replacement card with the remaining value and original expiry).

7) Loss, theft, misuse

Treat your card code like cash. Lost, stolen or misused codes won’t be replaced or refunded unless we can verify original proof of purchase and confirm the remaining balance is unused. We may cancel a card and/or refuse redemption if we reasonably suspect fraud, unlawful conduct or breach of these terms.

8) Balance checks

You can check the remaining balance via the link in your gift card email or by contacting us.

9) Alcohol & responsible service

Alcohol can only be sold or supplied to persons 18+. Proof of age may be required. We comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements in Queensland.

10) Tax & shipping

No GST is charged on the sale of a gift card; GST will apply when it’s redeemed for taxable goods/services. Gift cards themselves do not ship; any physical products purchased with a card follow our normal shipping terms. 

11) Errors & downtime

We aren’t responsible for delays or failures in card delivery caused by email filters, incorrect addresses supplied by the purchaser, or platform outages beyond our reasonable control. If your gift card hasn’t arrived, contact us and we’ll help.

12) Privacy

We collect and use limited data (e.g., purchaser and recipient details) to issue and administer gift cards in line with our Privacy Policy.

13) Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the ACL.
