The brand of the wines is Gerler - a nod to Brisbane's first winemaker in the 1860s. Made by Dave Cush, who's been plying his trade for over 25 years, these wines are sourced from top end vineyards in McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Barossa Valley.
Something for everyone...
We're pleased to offer you a dry white, a dry rosé and a juicy, medium-bodied red:
2024 Vermentino (McLaren Vale, SA)
Originally from Sardinia, this variety has found a natural home in McLaren Vale. This wine was fermented on skins, so it has a little extra spice and body than other iterations of this variety. In Sardinia, they eat heaps of seafood, and this variety has been selected over the centuries to suit food like this - it even has its own inherent kind of saltiness to seal the deal. The wine shows lifted aromas of Thai basil and citrus, and a dry, stylish palate of great balance and length. An extra bonus with Vermentino is that it ages remarkably well, drinking beautifully well past five years of age. Buy the wine here!
2025 Dry Rosé (Langhorne Creek, SA)
Rosé should be like this - dry, savoury and eminently smashable and versatile. It's the ultimate party wine - light and slinky enough to drink on its own, but structured enough to stand up to the nibbles and even whatever comes off the barbie! It's a very important style of wine for us here in Queensland, and this is one of which we're super proud. We hope you love it as much as we do! Buy the wine here.
2023 GSM (Barossa Valley)
From a single vineyard in Vine Vale, this is a blend of 70% Old Vine Grenache, 20% Shiraz and 10% Mataro. Being mostly Grenache, it's light-medium bodied, but don't think for a second that it's lacking in flavour! This is juicy and complex, it's our most popular wine, with an almost 100% hit rate. Bright red fruits with underlying earthy characters, it opens up to be quite structured with some time in the glass or run it through the decanter if you want to see the different layers of tannins it has to offer.
