2019 Gerler Riesling
Definitely up there with the best white wines I've ever made. Fermented in old oak for three months in the coolroom. It was part of a continuous experiment I had with Clare Riesling (well, two vintages, four years apart) using German yeast that keep on ticking despite the cold. The result is a texture character that I could never get any other way. Even though it's technically off-dry, with a little age, that has receded immensely. Lychee, Nectarine, a touch sweet and mouth watering.
Dry as your uncle’s humour, but way more charming. This rosé’s all about balance — Tempranillo gives it that serious edge, a little earthy spice and red currant tang, while the Grenache lightens things up with ripe strawberry, watermelon rind and just a whisper of rose petal.
There’s a clean line of acidity running through it, but nothing outrageous - just enough to get the juices flowing. Finishes dry, savoury, and just a little bit moreish. Good structure for a pink wine, but still stupidly easy to drink.
Also pairs beautifully with sunshine, park benches, and excuses to not go back to work.
This rosé is the MVP of lazy lunches. Smash it with:
– Charcuterie — especially jamón, salami, and anything with a bit of funk and fat. It’s got enough grip and acid to hold its own.
– Paella or anything Spanish-adjacent — especially if there’s chorizo involved. It just clicks.
– Roast chicken or crispy skin salmon — that mid-weight style means it can handle protein without being pushed around.
– Fattoush salad or grilled halloumi — if you’re going the vego route. Something fresh, salty, and herby is a great foil.

from 8 reviewsI do love a dry Rose and this one was a corker. The kind of wine you open ‘just for one glass’... and suddenly the bottle’s gone. Will be back for more.

Crisp, zesty and sooo easy to drink. It was a like a chardonnay, but different and quite fresh. Loved every sip.

Absolutely loved this Shiraz. It’s everything I want in a red - juicy fruit with a velvety finish. Great quality.
