2023 Gerler McLaren Vale Shiraz
This is luxury in a glass — the kind of Shiraz that reminds you why McLaren Vale has the reputation it does. 2023 gave us a cooler season, so the fruit ripened slowly, locking in depth and finesse. Combine that with seriously expensive, low-yield fruit and some of the best French oak money can buy, and you’ve got a wine that’s all about power dressed in velvet.
It’s plush and seductive right from the first sniff — black cherries, blood plums, and blackberry compote, layered with dark chocolate, espresso, and sweet baking spice from the oak. The palate is concentrated and full-bodied, but the tannins are so fine and polished they feel almost creamy. There’s a savoury edge that keeps it from being too rich, and the finish just keeps on going — a slow, luxurious fade.
This is not a casual Tuesday wine. It’s the one you open when you want to make a point: that you care, that you’ve got taste, that you mean business.

– Aged gouda or comté for late-night cheese board indulgence
Serve it at a proper cellar temperature (16–18°C), decant it for at least an hour to let it stretch its legs, and enjoy watching your guests try not to smile too hard when they take the first sip.

from 21 reviewsLovely light white, which lingers on the palate really pleasingly.
An amazing wine - as always. The only problem I have is that I ma go through a box very quickly.
We love the Gerler Vermentino. It has a delicious crisp light flavour. A great wine to accompany many dishes.
Delicious rosé wine. Definitely up to Gerler’s very high standards.
Love it!!! Hope you will have something similar in the future.
Love this wine! It was a great surprise- a bit like a reisling but with a stronger body. Will definitely buy it again.
Absolutely amazing wine! It would be in my favourite top 3 Sauvignon Blancs I’ve ever tasted!
Love it and excellent value for money
I got this one cos it was a best-seller and wanted to see what the fuss was about... pleased to say it's well-deserved. Beautiful for savouring as a wind-down treat at the end of a long day, or splitting a bottle with mates over a platter of cheese and meats.
I do love a dry Rose and this one was a corker. The kind of wine you open ‘just for one glass’... and suddenly the bottle’s gone. Will be back for more.
